Monday, a court hearing was held in Mason City on whether or not a sealed search warrant in the Jodi Huisentruit case should be unsealed.
Huisentruit was abducted on her way to work at KIMT-TV on June 27th, 1995, and was declared legally deceased in 2001. Private investigator Steve Ridge filed a motion last month arguing that the warrant regarding GPS data for two vehicles connected to John Vansice should be opened since Vansice died in December, and any ongoing investigation into his involvement in the matter has now ceased.
Cerro Gordo County Attorney Carlyle Dalen argued against the motion, stating that unsealing the search warrant could hinder the investigation.
Senior District Court Judge James Drew stated that he will issue a ruling within 30 days.
