Beginning March 17th, weather permitting, crews will close U-S Highway 65 /South Federal Avenue in Mason City, between 6th Street South and 19th Street Southwest, so work can be done on the roadway.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says that the contractor will work on this project from north to south and open segments of the roadway as they are completed. You will be able to access businesses along the closed route by using side streets and city alleyways.
Some sections of South Federal Avenue/U-S Highway 65 will remain open to local traffic, while construction work takes place elsewhere on the roadway.
A marked detour route will be in place during this time, and is expected to remain in place until November 26th or when the roadwork has been completed.
