Aplington-Parkersburg Spring Sports Update – 4-11-25

The Aplington-Parkersburg boys golf team began its season by winning a home triangular with 149 strokes. Wapsie Valley was second with a 174 and AGWSR was third with 177. Cormick Steege recorded a par score of 36, and Brandon Hartbarger scored a 37, taking first and second place individually. Their next meet is a home dual with Denver Monday.

The girls tennis team earned a 9-0 win over South Hardin in the home opener. Peyton Klooster won 8-0 at #2 singles for the only sweep of the meet. Adria Neymeyer at #1 singles and Holly Haugstad at #4 singles each gave up a single game. They’ll return to action Friday by hosting St. Edmond.

The boys track & field team placed eighth at the Hudson Boys Meet. The top performances were the 4×400 placing second and the 4×100 placing third. Their next meet will be Monday at East Marshall.

The AP/DNH soccer team dominated in a 10-0 win at New Hampton. The United scored five goals in each half to end the game early. Aiden Merrill led with three goals and Jackson Mulder scored twice. Dax Weedman, Ty Luhring, Landon Reynolds, Corbin Sparrgrove and Mason Bertram each scored once. They’ll host Columbus Catholic Friday at 7:00 p.m. on 99 The Wave.

The girls soccer team won 2-1 at Columbus Catholic. They scored twice in the first half and gave up a goal in the second half to take the win. Adri Allan and Kiara Morris each scored. AP (3-1) will host Wright County Friday at 5:00 on 99 The Wave.
