Grundy Center senior Ryker Thoren has announced he’ll continue his academic and football career at Wartburg College next school year.

An offensive lineman/linebacker, Thoren led the Spartans in tackles in both 2023 and 2024, earning first-team all-state honors both seasons. During his senior year, he recorded 74.5 tackles, including 2.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss.
Throughout his high school career, he’s also participated in basketball, track & field and baseball.
Wartburg is coming off a 10-2 season where they reached the third round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.
