All four AGWSR spring sports teams will be in action Tuesday.

The girls and boys golf teams will compete at Wapsie Valley, a meet that’ll also include the Aplington-Parkersburg boys. The Cougar boys have three varsity returners from last year’s state qualifying team, led by junior Easton Kerns with a 42.63 nine-hole average.

The Cougar girls were scheduled to scrimmage Hampton-Dumont-CAL last week, but they’ll instead open their season Tuesday after that meet was postponed. Gabrielle Kruger is the top returning golfer, having averaged 53.63 strokes per nine holes last year. The meet will start at 4:15 p.m. at Maple Hills Country Club in Tripoli.

Both track & field teams will compete at a coed meet at Grundy Center. The boys are coming off a sixth place finish at last week’s meet at BCLUW, which included first place finishes by Kaden Abbas in the 110-meter hurdles and Aiden Heitland in both the discus and shot put.

It’ll be the first outdoor meet of the season for the girls, which were scheduled to compete in last week’s early bird meet at BCLUW that was cancelled. The meet will start at 4:30 p.m.
