Each Dike-New Hartford spring sports team will be in action Thursday.
The golf teams will be in action on opposite sides of Waterloo. The boys will join Don Bosco for a triangular with Columbus Catholic at Gates Park Golf Course. The DNH/AP girls will compete against the Sailors at South Hills Golf Course. Both meets will start at 4:00 p.m.
Both track & field teams will be in action and will have their final opportunities to qualify for the Drake Relays. The girls will compete at West Delaware, and Head Coach Rachael Cheeseman looks forward to facing unfamiliar opponents.
“We love to kind of get away from teams that we’re really used to seeing and we like to kind of make a big splash and letting people know like, hey, we’re Dike-New Hartford, and we got a lot going on,” Cheeseman says. “So I just hope that’s a big confidence boosting meet that they can get out there and see that their training is starting to pay off and they’re ready to hit some big marks. So I just hope that they can get out there and run confident against some really good competition.”
The Wolverines and Union will be the two NICL teams in attendance. It’ll start at 4:30.
The boys will compete in a seven-team field of mostly Class 4A opponents at the Cole Collinge Invitational at Cedar Falls. The meet will start at 4:15.
The girls tennis team will put its undefeated record on the line by hosting 1-3 Grundy Center. The Wolverines are 5-0, and are coming off consecutive 8-1 wins over Webster City and South Hardin. The meet will start at 4:15.
The girls soccer team will play for the first time in a week when they host GC-GR. The Wolverines are 4-2 and will look to bounce back from last week’s 4-1 loss to #8 (1A) Hudson. GC-GR lost 5-0 to the Pirates on Monday. The game will air on 99 The Wave with coverage beginning at 5:20 p.m.
