Three AGWSR spring sports teams will be in action Thursday.
The golf teams will both host meets. Coming off a win in Monday’s “Battle for Hardin County” triangular, the Cougar boys will host Jesup and Hampton-Dumont-CAL at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Wellsburg. The Cougars have won three of their six events so far. The Cougar girls will host Jesup at Ackley Country Club. They’re coming off a third place finish in Monday’s triangular with Iowa Falls-Alden and South Hardin. Both meets will start at 4:15 p.m.
The girls track & field team will compete at the Spartan Girls Invite at Grundy Center. Senior Abby Veld has automatically qualified for the Drake Relays in the discus. While she hasn’t reached the Blue Standard in the shot put, her best throw of 40-04.50 is the tenth-best in Iowa, well within the range of the top 24 that qualify. The meet will start at 4:30.
