This week the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors approved the county’s next fiscal year budget.
The Cerro Gordo supervisors also approved a possible location for a Iowa Flood Center hydro station near the county law enforcement center and engineer’s office just west of Mason City.
The Iowa Flood Center received 1-million dollars to expand their hydro weather station network. These stations measure rainfall, soil moisture, and temperature conditions, and groundwater levels in shallow wells.
The eventual goal is to have one station in every county.
