The Aplington-Parkersburg School District will host two community informational meetings Tuesday. They’ll inform the public and receive feedback on the facility master plan that has been formulated by the school board over the last year.

Superintendent Travis Fleshner on what those in attendance should expect to learn regarding the district’s future plans.

“The school board has had some visibility, but this is really of a group of community members of over 25 people, people with younger students in the district, maybe older students in the district, community members with no students in the district, really just looking at a lot of big picture concepts,” Fleshner says. “And I think the things that we’ll bring to the community tonight will resonate well with them. There’s some really basic need things that have to happen. You know, HVAC, windows, roofs, you know, there’s some other things in there we’re pretty excited to roll out, with the possibility of some recreation expansion items, and some potential expansion in our career tech ed areas.”

The meetings will be in the high school auditorium at 5:30 and the middle school library at 7:30.

The school board and task force has been working with INVISION Architecture to help create the facilities master plan. This plan is being designed with the goal of best representing the needs of those in the district, with a commitment to continue having buildings in both cities.
