Girls tennis singles & doubles regional tournaments will be held Monday.
Aplington-Parkersburg and Hampton-Dumont-CAL will compete at the Region 6 tournament at Decorah. Junior Adria Neymeyer, who qualified for last year’s state tournament, will contend for a return trip. She enters 10-3 and ranked #4 in Class 1A.
Dike-New Hartford, Grundy Center, Iowa Falls-Alden and South Hardin will compete at the Region 5 tournament at Waterloo Columbus. The Sailors boast #2 Kate Holton, who’s likely to compete at #1 singles and leads Iowa in #1 match wins.
Teams may enter two singles players and two doubles pairings, and no individual may compete in both singles and doubles. The first and second place finishers will advance to the state tournament. Action will begin at 9:00 a.m.
