Grundy Center and Four Individuals Headed to State Girls Golf

The Grundy Center girls golf team qualified as a team and four area golfers qualified for state individually in regional final meets Wednesday.

Grundy Center was the runner-up with a 369 in  the 2A Region 4 Final which they hosted at Town and Country Golf Club. Individually, Bella Keaveny of South Hardin qualified for state with an 88. The Spartans are the defending 1A state champion. 

Iowa Falls-Alden was 5th with a 421 at the 2A Region 2 Final at Carroll Municipal Golf Course. Individually, Olivia French qualified for her first trip to state in 6th place with an 87. 

North Butler placed third with a 394 at the 1A Region 3 Final at Nashua Town and Country Club. Two Bearcats qualified for state individually as Reagan Mulder placed 2nd with a 85 and Ella Lindell was 6th with a 93. Mulder placed 3rd at the 1A state tournament last season. 

DNH-AP was third with 362 at the 3A Region 5 Final at Pin Oaks Golf Course in Manchester. Maryn Bixby was just outside the qualification cut off in 7th with a 87.

Hampton-Dumont-CAL placed 7th with a 415 at the 3A Region 1 Final at Briggs Woods Golf Course in Webster City. Kenzie Moorehead placed 15th with a 95.

The state meet is May 23rd and 24th.
