Last night the Hampton Public Library Board of Trustees named Suzy Knipfel as the permanent director of the facility.
In other business, the Hampton library board approved a 5 percent increase in salaries and wages for all library staff, except for a new part-time employee, for the next fiscal year beginning July 1st.
The Hampton Public Library Board of Trustees also discussed changing the hours of operation, and decided that effective immediately, if a holiday falls on either a Friday or Monday, then the library will be closed on Saturday.
For example, with Memorial Day on May 27th, the library will be closed on May 25th.
