tipping

There was a new article put out, talking about tipping at restaurants.  The data collected and discussed where broken down to age groups.  From the data, it looks like 18-29 year old’s are some of the lowest tippers, millennials(30-44) being second.  I take issue with the stats being divided by age.  My friends and I all tip extremely well, why?  We have all worked as servers.  I think that should be the determining factor.  It does seem that the trend of high school jobs and starting out in the service industry has gone down.  Years of people looking down on food service as low lever job has never sat right with me.  I worked on and off in the food service industry for over 10 years. It was never something I wanted to do, but a job to pay the bills non the less.  I  think that people that have worked for tips know what it’s like and will tip well. People that have no idea what it’s like think they are justified in not tipping 15-20%.  That’s just a 2 cents.
