The AGWSR softball team will look to notch another win when it visits Denver Thursday.
The Cougars (2-14, 0-6 NICL-W) are coming off a 1-1 triangular Tuesday at Belmond-Klemme, where they earned a much-needed 10-6 win over the hosts. The bats heated up with nine hits in the win, led by a three-hit performance by Trevyn Smith. The win also featured resilience; the Cougars trailed 5-0 after the first inning but gave up only one more run.
Denver (5-9, 2-5 NICL-C) is coming off Wednesday’s 11-3 loss at Aplington-Parkersburg, where they gave up eight runs in the fourth inning after holding a 2-0 lead. Jenna Collins, who has pitched the majority of the innings, didn’t pitch Wednesday and could be available Thursday.
The game will start at 7:00 p.m.
