The Dike-New Hartford summer sports teams will play NICL-Central doubleheaders at Columbus Catholic Monday. The softball doubleheader will air on 99 The Wave, with coverage beginning at 4:50 p.m.

The Wolverine softball team (14-8, 7-3 NICL-C) is coming off a 4-1 week, which ended with wins over Union and #15 (2A) Jesup. Against the J-Hawks, pitcher Faith Gray recorded four strikeouts and a walk, and Aubrey Mracek had three hits and two RBIs.

Columbus (1-18, 1-10 NICL-C) has lost 13 straight. They bat a league-worst .197 and have given up 10 or more runs in 13 games. Addison Zehentner bats .295 to lead. The Wolverines opened the season with a 13-2, five inning win over the Sailors.

The Wolverine baseball team (12-7, 7-3 NICL-C) will look to conclude NICL-Central play strong, and will go for a bounce back. They lost to Jesup 11-1 in five innings Thursday, a game where they were held to two hits while issuing nine walks as a staff.

Columbus (12-12, 6-4 NICL-C) has lost consecutive games to Denver and Wapsie Valley. They’ve fallen back to .500 after going 1-4 last week. Thomas Steele bats .450 and leads the Central with 36 hits and 22 RBIs. The Sailors won 3-2 when the teams met earlier in the season.
Both doubleheaders will begin at 5:00 p.m.
