The #14 (1A) Clarksville softball team earned an 8-4 home win over #8 (1A) North Linn Wednesday in a rematch of last year’s state tournament semifinal game, won by the Lynx.
North Linn got on the board with one run in the first, but the Indians answered with four in the bottom of the first, including a 2RBI single by Jeni Johnson. She and Maya Backer each drove in additional runs, and the Indians led 7-1 after four. After North Linn scored another run, Hannah Wangsness drove in a run in the sixth to complete the scoring. Backer was 2-for-3 to lead the way.
Clarksville (18-8) will close the regular season by hosting Wapsie Valley Friday.
