Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for Chickasaw and Wright Counties in response to severe storms and flash flooding that occurred on July 4th and is continuing.
The governor’s proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather and activated the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program.
As of July 1st, the award amount for the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program increased from 5 to 7-thousand dollars. However, this increase is not retroactive.
