Yesterday about 4:15pm the Iowa State Patrol was called out on the report of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 57 and “X” Avenue southeast of New Hartford in Grundy County.

A Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 37-year-old Timothy Haugh of Waterloo was traveling northbound on “X” Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign.

At the same time a Chevy Traverse driven by 77-year-old Martha Weber of Aplington was eastbound on Highway 57 and struck the driver side rear quarter panel of the pickup truck.

Both vehicles came to rest in the northeast ditch at the intersection. Haugh was not injured while Weber was transported by New Hartford EMS to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo for treatment of unknown injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
