Sunday around 1pm the Iowa State Patrol was called out on the report of a car versus motorcycle accident at the intersection of Highway 18 and 160th Avenue east of Algona.
A 2024 Nissan Sentra driven by an unidentified 17-year-old from Ackley was southbound on 160th Avenue and failed to yield at a stop sign. At the same time, a motorcycle driven by 42-year-old Adam Allen of Pocahontas, was traveling west on Highway 18, and struck the car.
Allen died from injuries sustained in the accident, while the 17-year-old was airlifted to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City for treatment of unknown injuries.
