Monday afternoon the Mason City Police Department was called out on the report of a car/pedestrian accident at 7th Street and South Federal Avenue.
Ginger Clausen of Mason City was driving a car and was making a left turn from 7th Street Southeast onto South Federal Avenue. The pedestrian, James Grover, Senior of Mason City, was walking eastbound crossing South Federal Avenue on 7th Street. Clausen struck Grover as he was crossing South Federal.
Grover was transported to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries, and later died.
Upon further investigation, Clausen will be charged with striking a pedestrian.
