The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows football team will look to improve upon a 3-6 record last year this season.
They’ll begin the season by hosting cross-county rival Eagle Grove. The Cowboys have won six in a row in the series. In Week 2, they’ll travel to Hampton-Dumont-CAL, where they’ll face the Bulldogs who won 34-7 last season and this will be the first meeting in Hampton since 2018.
They’ll play their final non-district game in Week 3 by hosting Southeast Valley. The Jaguars have won five of the last six meetings. District play begins in Week 4 at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura. The Cowboys won last year’s meeting 41-6 and make the trip to Garner for the first time since 2019.
In Week 5, the Cowboys will host Estherville-Lincoln-Central, in search of first win in the series since 2014. C-G-D will head north to Forest City in Week 6.
In Week 7, the Cowboys will host Okoboji for senior night, and will look to follow-up last year’s 55-27 win over the Pioneers. The regular season closes with a long bus ride to Spirit Lake. The Cowboys are 0-7 in the series.
