Severe weather events continue to challenge the blood supply

The American Red Cross continues to experience an emergency blood shortage and asks the public to book a time to give as soon as possible to ensure lifesaving medical care is not impacted.

Severe weather events across the country, including the remnants of Hurricane Debby, have forced the cancellation of up to 60 blood drives, causing about 15-hundred lifesaving blood products to go uncollected.

To make an appointment to donate, go to RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS(1-800-733-2767).

Those who come in between now and Saturday will get a $20 Amazon.com gift card by email.
