The Clarksville football team will continue its two-game homestand when they host Turkey Valley for homecoming in non-district action on Friday.

Clarksville (3-2 overall) rolled to a 70-20 home district win over Tripoli in 8 Player District 4 last week. The Indians had their run game cooking with 460 yards and seven touchdowns. The Indians have the most rushing yards in 8 Player District 4 with 1,240 entering Week 5. Nathan Moon has evaded defenses with 715 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns to lead the team.

Clarksville Head Coach Darren Bohlen on the Trojans’ resume and making the most of homecoming.

I think we’re pretty evenly matched. They’ve had some tough games to start the year, so their record doesn’t reflect the quality of the team that they have,” says Bohlen. “Homecoming is a time to get all our alumni to come back and support us. We’re going to need that against Turkey. We’re going to be ready to play. I think our kids are going to take this week and work a little bit harder and enjoy it. I told them let’s bring the fun back and our kids had a lot of fun last week, so hopefully we can carry that in.”

The Indians defense has kept the offense on the field by forcing nine turnovers (five fumbles, four interceptions) this season.

Turkey Valley (2-2 overall) won 58-22 over Central Elkader in 8 Player District 3 last week. Quarterback Logan Busta poses a challenge with 422 passing yards, 260 rushing yards and 10 total touchdowns. The Trojans also cannot be underestimated running the ball with the second most yards in 8 Player District 3 with 1,001.

Clarksville won last year’s meeting 68-26.

Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. in Clarksville.
