Peak viewing time for fall colors is about here in northern Iowa

The latest Fall Color Report from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources shows that for northeast Iowa, most woody plants are changing colors.

For north central Iowa, maples are turning more red and orange, Hackberry, walnuts, elms, and cottonwood are turning yellow. Many species are dropping a few leaves. Most native vines are changing color.

The estimated peak viewing time for northern Iowa is from October 10th-20th.
