Area Runners Take the Course at Top of Iowa XC Meet at NIACC on Thursday

The Belmond-Klemme/CGD, North Butler and West Fork cross country teams will compete in the Top Iowa Conference meet on Thursday at NIACC. 

Belmond-Klemme/CGD last ran at Forest City Invite on Monday. The girls were led by top 30 placings by Avery Boeshart in 24th in 23:21.7 and Lillyann Aguilera in 29th in 24:13.9. The boys front runner was Christopher Greenfield in 21st in 18:41.3. 

North Butler will run in its first meet since October 7th at Lake Mills. The Bearcat boys have four runners entering the meet off top 15 placings, Ezra Almelein in 3rd (16:47.8), Trager Pecha in 6th (17:47), Carl Shew in 12th (18:43) and Alex Almelien in 15th (18:59). Cora Barnett leads the girls team with a 23:38.

West Fork will run for the first time since October 8th at Eagle Grove. Evelyn Hitzhusen paces the girls team with a 22:46 that earned 12th at Eagle Grove. Xavier Baptiste leads the Warhawk boys with a 18:53. Ashyr Wiseman, Aaron Ihrke and Owen Wedmore continue to put in strong times as well in the 19:30 range. 

The meet begins at 4:00 p.m. with the varsity girls race followed by the varsity boys at 4:35 p.m. in Mason City.
