This week the Iowa Falls City Council voted to deny funding for hotel/motel tax funding applications.
One was from Timbukbru of $4,750 for a celebration on River Street, the other was from the Calkins Nature Center for an indoor architectural concept for the remaining $24,156 from the tourism funds.
In addition, the Iowa Falls City Council considered funding for the Wiggles and Giggles daycare center for up to 25-thousand dollars for materials and supplies, while not funding R&T Enterprises or Grandma Jane’s Playhouse this round.
That motion was defeated on a tied vote of 2-2, as one council member was absent.
