The #4(2A)Dike-New Hartford volleyball team will look to inch closer to a return to state as they host Hudson in a NICL-Central rematch and Class 2A Region 4 semifinal on Monday. The match will air on 99 The Wave. The Wolverines won the earlier meeting this season 3-1 over the Pirates on September 24.
Dike-New Hartford (27-15) has won seven straight matches including a 3-0 (25-5, 25-3, 25-7) sweep of Grandview Christian in a regional quarterfinal on Wednesday to advance. Izzy Norton and Shannon Moorman provide a one-two swing for the Wolverines front line with 275 and 240 kills respectively. The Wolverines are one of the top net defenses in 2A with 285 blocks this season (third most in 2A).
Hudson (27-10) swept Colfax-Mingo 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-12) in a regional quarterfinal on Wednesday to advance. Addie Rhoades is the Pirates top attacker with 336 kills at just under four per set. The Pirates have been steady from the service line with 200 service aces this season (third most in NICL-Central).
Pre-match coverage on 99 The Wave begins at 6:40 p.m. followed by the first serve at 7:00 p.m. in Dike. The winner will advance to Wednesday’s regional final against either #13(2A) Wapsie Valley or Jesup.
