The #6 (2A) South Hardin volleyball team faced some close battles, but earned a 3-0 home sweep of Ridge View in Monday’s Region 6 semifinal. The Tigers won 25-22, 25-17, 25-19.
In Set 1, the Tigers gained a lead by as many as seven points at 18-11, but the Raptors cut the deficit to two, twice late in the set before South Hardin closed it out. It was point-for-point early in set 2, but the Tigers extended the lead to as many as 17-9 on an eight-point run at the service line by Ava Salvo on their way to the most lopsided set win of the match. South Hardin took their first lead of set 3 at 9-8, and Ridge View’s final lead was 14-13 before the Tigers closed out the sweep.
Alli Sheldahl led with 17 kills. Abby Teske had four aces and 15 digs.
South Hardin (25-8) has advanced to Wednesday’s regional final, where they’ll take on #10 (2A) Grundy Center at Union.
