Drought conditions improved in Iowa in the past week.
Through Tuesday, just over 6 percent of the state had no drought conditions listed. This covers portions of 12 counties in southern Iowa.
The severe drought category dropped by almost 38 percent, while the abnormally dry and moderate drought areas in Iowa both increased in size.
Almost the entire broadcast area is listed as being in a moderate drought this week.
The worst conditions can be found in northwestern Iowa where the severe drought continues.
