Tomorrow the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting and will consider authorizing the county auditor to conduct a recount of the Board of Supervisor District 3 race.
Incumbent Lori Meacham Ginapp received 3,107 votes in the November 5th election, while her challenger, Carl Ginapp, received 3,105 votes.
Then Tuesday, a special board convened to review 41 provisional and late arriving absentee ballots. This board decided to accept 29 ballots, with the updated results showing Carl Ginapp with 3,109 votes, with Lori Meacham Ginapp two votes behind at 3,107.
Lori Meacham Ginapp is now requesting a vote recount.
The district 3 seat on the board covers the northeast portion of the county including parts of Mason City.
The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors special meeting is Thursday at 2:45pm at the courthouse in Mason City.
