Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Franklin County office offering Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Franklin County office will be offering two opportunities to attend the Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course (P-CIC), led by Extension Field Agronomist, Angie Rieck-Hinz. The first session is scheduled for December 10, 2024, 9:30 a.m., Dows Community Center, 119 E Ellsworth St, Dows, Iowa. The course will be offered again on January 21, 2025, 1:30 p.m., Youth for Christ Building, 420 4th St SE, Hampton, Iowa. Preregistration is required for both sessions. Please email Traci Kloetzer, tkloetze@iastate.edu or call 641-456-4811, press 1, provide your name, phone number, the meeting you are attending, and county of residence to register.
The course will run for approximately 2 ½ hours including check-in and breaks. The registration fee is $30. We accept the following forms of payment: Cash or Check made payable to Franklin County Extension at the door.
The course will fulfill 2024-2025 recertification requirements for private pesticide applicators. Topics to be covered include:
• Pesticide use and the environment
• Pesticide labels and comprehension, including restricted entry interval and preharvest interval
• Pests, pest management, and pesticides
