Last night the Dumont City Council met with representatives from the Hampton-Dumont School District who discussed ideas to get the Dumont area more incorporated into what the district is doing.
Ideas discussed included holding Earth Day activities in Dumont, like what used to be held before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and having students visit nursing homes.
In other business, the Dumont council discussed plans to repave county road T-16 through the city with no action taken by the council, approved a rate increase as proposed by Jendro Sanitation, and approved of the fire department to purchase shelving and lockers to help store additional gear.
