The coverage area for the severe drought category in Iowa dropped from 12-point-6 percent last week to 2-point-34 percent this week.
The latest U-S Drought Monitor Report also shows a slight improvement in the coverage area for no drought conditions listed at almost 7 percent this week.
The coverage areas for abnormally dry and moderate drought conditions both increased in the past week.
Almost the entire broadcast area remains in a moderate drought, except the southwestern corner of Hardin County, which is listed as being abnormally dry.
