The Iowa Falls-Alden girls basketball led 8-2 midway through the first quarter but West Marshall rallied and never surrendered the lead again for a 57-48 win over the Cadets on Tuesday.
IFA led 8-2 with 4:20 to go in the first quarter, from that point West Marshall flipped the deficit into an advantage by going on a 29-14 scoring run in the remainder of the first half to take a 31-22 lead into the break. The Cadets, after trailing 46-37 with 5:12 to go in the game, went on a 11-4 scoring run to get within layup at 50-48 with 1:25 left. The Trojans held the Cadets scoreless and went on a 7-0 scoring run at the free throw line over the final minute to hold on for the win.
Elody England and Addison Dennis both finished in double figures scoring 14 and 13 points respectively, and Brooklyn Handeland added nine points on three triples to lead the Cadets.
Iowa Falls-Alden (1-1) will be at South Hamilton for next game on Thursday, December 5.
