A second case of the avian influenza has been detected, this time in a commercial turkey flock in Palo Alto County.
The first case was announced Friday in a flock of commercial layer chickens in Sioux County.
This is Iowa’s 5th detection of the bird flu within poultry in 2024.
If poultry producers or those with backyard birds suspect signs of the bird flu, they should contact their veterinarian immediately.
