Wednesday afternoon the Mason City Airport Commission held a special meeting and approved the base bid and Alternate #1 to demolish the former terminal building from McDowell and Sons Contractors, Incorporated of Iowa Falls.
McDowell had the lowest of eight bids submitted at $339,728.
The engineer’s estimate for the cost of the work was $484,774.
The former terminal building was constructed in 1966, but has been replaced by a new structure.
