The Iowa Falls-Alden girls wrestling team will host nine schools for an invitational at Ellsworth Community College Friday, which will air on 99 The Wave. AGWSR, AP/GC, BCLUW-SH, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, North Butler-Clarksville and West Fork will be among the teams in attendance.
Iowa Falls-Alden coach Eric Hoffman looks forward to the opportunity to showcase the program in front of the home crowd.
“Ellsworth does a great job, a great partner in this event for us,” Hoffman says. “They really help run the tournament, set up the mats, do all that work for us, and let us host the tournament there. But it’s the first opportunity for our girls to wrestle in front of the home crowd. We haven’t been in Iowa Falls yet this year. So I’m looking forward to bringing our lineup and letting the home fans see them. And hopefully that brings a lot of energy from our girls as well, which I think it will, and we’ll have a good performance.”
Based on the number of participants per weight class, some classes will be bracketed and others will be round robin style.
Action will begin at 6:00 p.m. with coverage beginning at 5:50.
