Several local alumni are members of the NAIA National Champion Grand View University football team. The Vikings capped off an undefeated season with a 35-7 win over Keiser University in Saturday’s championship game in Durham, North Carolina.

Parkersburg native and Aplington-Parkersburg alum Nick Ellis is a member of the coaching staff as an assistant offensive line coach.
It was the program’s second national championship, having also won the title in 2013.
