Last month, Hardin County Conservation, in partnership with Hardin County Economic Development, and the Iowa River Valley Early Childhood Area Board, entered into a contract with First Children’s Finance to complete a child care market analysis.

Part of the research being conducted by FCF includes three surveys to gain insight from local employers, parents, and child care providers.

An estimated 67 percent of households in Hardin County have both parents working outside of the home.  There are about 732 children who may need care, while the current capacity to serve those children is 384.

The deadline to complete the surveys has been extended to January 25th.

For more information, or to take the surveys, go to iowarivervalleyeca.com, and look under the “Community Planning” tab.
