The Parkersburg City Council met Monday.
Early in the meeting, information was presented by the Public Works Department about defective sidewalk liabilities. There was discussion about the city’s responsibility to take greater care in identifying and making property owners aware of the need to fix their defective sidewalks.
Regarding personnel, they approved the Mayor’s recommendation to reappoint Tom Hoogestraat to the Zoning Board of adjustment. They also recognized Jess Harken as the new Parkersburg Ambulance Chief. Discussion was had about starting another EMT class with up to four students.
They scheduled a public hearing to consider the zoning related requirements for Green Belt Band & Trust at the next regular meeting.
They held a public hearing and approved the rezoning of a parcel of land at the Legend Trail Development from Unclassified to Light Industrial and/or Manufacturing District, to be used for a rental storage building.
They also approved the final plat of Lynx Addition as a minor subdivision.
The next meeting will be Monday, February 3.
