Monday, the Franklin County Board of Supervisors received a proposed Community Health 28-E Agreement between Franklin General Hospital and the Franklin County Board of Health.

The agreement calls for the hospital to provide services to all residents of Franklin County without regard to their ability to pay for such services.

FGH would maintain a department to provide the services, and would function under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.  The personnel policies of the hospital would be in effect for all persons employed to provide the health-related services.

The board of health would maintain its responsibilities as a “contractor”, and would provide a work plan, along with working with the board of supervisors on an annual budget.

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors requested the item be placed on next week’s business meeting agenda for further discussion.
