The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is looking for the 4th individual alleged to have been involved in the disappearance of grave markers and historical site markers in the local area.

Two warrants have been issued for 41-year-old Joshua D. Sellers of Manly on the charges of 1st degree theft, and for 1st degree criminal mischief, both class “C” felonies.

The others already picked up are 43-year-old Brandon Smith of Hampton, 33-year-old Lauren Johnson of Dumont, and 31-year-old Rachel Card of Hampton.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says that all the markers recovered were destroyed during the theft.  The markers had the wording ground off of them and were then cut into smaller pieces to prepare them for the scrap metal process.  The department has over 700 pounds of pieces of markers that were recovered on January 23rd from Moehle Salvage of Sheffield.

At least 15 cemeteries and historical marker sites were hit in the local area.
